    Ho Chi Minh City Is Leading The Favorite Destinations in Vietnam

    From May to August 2022, the recently released Summer 2022 Travel Trends report shows that Ho Chi Minh City leads the list of 10 most favorite domestic destinations. It is proven that domestic tourism is still the preferred choice for Vietnamese people. 

     
    Summer is the ideal time for family groups to meet up, so Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi hold first and third place respectively, the rest of the positions are mainly focused on coastal localities due to the need to avoid the summer heat of tourists. Top favorite domestic destinations of Vietnamese in 2022 in order from top to bottom include Ho Chi Minh City – Da Nang – Hanoi – Vung Tau – Da Lat – Nha Trang – Phu Quoc – Ha Long – Hoi An – Phan Thiet.
     
    According to statistics, the city welcomed more than 11 million domestic tourists in the first six months of 2022, an increase of 43% over the previous period. It also welcomed close to 500,000 foreign visitors. Over the same year, total Ho Chi Minh City tourism earnings increased by approximately 30% to reach close to VND 50,000 billion.
     
    The Ho Chi Minh City tourism sector also has experienced a significant revival since the start of the summer. During the peak season, many 4-5 star hotels report increases in room occupancy of up to 85-90 percent. The entertainment venues also draw a sizable crowd of tourists.
     
     
    Ho Chi Minh City tourism is leading the favorite destinations for domestic tourists
     
    Deputy Director of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa said, after the pandemic, city tourism has determined the diversion: Not only plays the role of a market providing a source of visitors to destinations across the country, but it can also become an attractive destination. In order to have more tours, new and attractive destinations, Ho Chi Minh City  tourism industry has made efforts to build unique and different products to attract domestic and international tourists.
     
    Ho Chi Minh City has embarked on implementing the strategy of "one district, one tourism product" to exploit historical values and attractive destinations to attract more tourists to Ho Chi Minh City. Ms. Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa also said that all Ho Chi Minh City tourism products are upgraded and refreshed to be introduced according to the criteria of "familiar but strange". That is, until now, tourists and people of Ho Chi Minh City have been familiar with the tourist attractions in the central area with little interest in destinations in the suburban areas.
     
    Along with attracting domestic tourists with new and attractive products, increasing the experience of the city's cultural features over 300 years old, Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism has just announced a set of basic tourism information about the city’s tourism, including information on the history of formation, natural conditions, culture, people and the government apparatus. The program is newly built, modern, showing the dynamism and creativity of the city. Thereby, creating a spread, affirming that Ho Chi Minh City is always a safe, lively, open, youthful, and exciting destination for visitors around the world.
