Vietnam and Cambodia organize Cultural Week 2023-2027

HCM City- Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Hoang Dao Cuong and  secretary of state and spokesman of Cambodia's Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts Long Ponnasirivath signed a cultural and artistic cooperation programme to hold a Cultural Week for the 2023 - 2027 period at a meeting in Ho Chi Minh City on the end of September 2022.

 In the first section, the two sides will coordinate to organize Vietnamese Culture Week in Cambodia in 2024 and 2026, and Cambodia Culture Week in Vietnam in 2023 and 2025. The two sides will support and create favorable conditions for cooperation between institutions. its agencies operate in the field of cultural research, art, preservation of traditional cultural heritage, fine art, photography, exhibitions and libraries; and the organization of cultural and art exchange programs in border areas.

The second one, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam Hoang Dao Cuong shared his experiences in preserving, preserving and developing Trang An scenic heritage. At the same time, share experiences with your friend Cambodia in making documents to submit to UNESCO for recognition of cultural heritages and express support for your country's intangible heritages. Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Culture and Arts Long Ponnasirivath thanked leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Vietnam for supporting and assisting Cambodia in nominating for recognition of intangible cultural heritage in Cambodia at the Culture Week event.

Finally, Through this Cultural Week event, Ponnasirivath hoped that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism would continue helping Cambodia train human resources in the fields of culture, art and heritage conservation. Vietnam will assist Cambodia in training Cambodian students at arts and culture schools managed by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. The specific quantity and time will be agreed in detail on the basis of the two government’s approval.
