Understanding Shabbat Day
Shabbat, the Jewish day of rest, begins at sunset on Friday and ends after sunset on Saturday (about 25 hours later). During this time, observant Jews refrain from activities such as using electronic devices, driving, cooking, writing, handling money, or taking photos. Travel plans should always take these customs into consideration.
In Vietnam, Shabbat usually begins around 17:15 - 18:00 on Friday and ends around 18:15 - 19:00 on Saturday, depending on the season and location.
Observance Levels
Not all Israeli travelers observe Shabbat in the same way.
Strict observers (especially Orthodox or expat Jewish groups) fully keep Shabbat traditions - avoiding travel, work, and electronic use.
Modern or secular travelers may simply attend Friday-night dinners and continue sightseeing or flights as usual.
Key Notes for Organizers
All transfers and tours must end before sunset on Friday.
Prepare meals in advance, as cooking is not permitted during Shabbat.
Ensure hotel rooms are spacious enough for private prayer or small group gatherings.
For strictly observant guests, contact the local Chabad center for assistance with Friday dinner, community connection, and logistics.
Shabbat-Friendly Suggestions by Destination
1) Hanoi:
Take a peaceful walk around West Lake or Hoan Kiem Lake, enjoying calm scenery without long travel.
Visit Tran Quoc Pagoda or Phu Tay Ho Temple (within walking distance of Tay Ho expat area).
Relax, meditate, or read at Botanical Garden (Bach Thao Park) or by the lakeside.
Enjoy a prepared Shabbat lunch at your hotel or villa - cold food, bread, fruit, salad, and wine.
2) Ho Chi Minh City:
Take a gentle walk around Notre Dame Cathedral, Tao Dan Park, and the Independence Palace.
Have a “Shabbat Café” experience - enjoy coffee or a light meal at a pre-booked spot near Chabad (payment done in advance).
Spend Saturday morning at Le Van Tam Park or Saigon Riverside for quiet relaxation.
3) Hoi An / Da Nang:
Stay at a traditional homestay near the Thu Bon River for rest, reading, and meditation.
Arrange a light picnic (prepared before Shabbat) in a riverside garden or courtyard.
Go for a bike ride around Cam Kim Village for a relaxing countryside experience.
Spiritual or Group Activities
Host a “Shabbat Circle” at the hotel - singing Zemirot (Shabbat songs), sharing stories, or reflecting on the week’s journey.
Offer meditation or gentle mindfulness sessions for guests seeking spiritual renewal and calm during their rest day.

Dear Mr. Xuan Hao,
As you may recall, after my family and I traveled with you in Vietnam, I recommended my friends, Galia and Zion Shai, to take a trip with you as well, and that is how the email chain below began.
Ten days ago, they returned from their trip with you (August 2025), and since then they have not stopped praising you - commending the journey itself, your punctuality, the quality of the guides, the warm and attentive care you provided, and the fact that you carried out the program fully and admirably.

I have already recommended you to other friends, and these days they are also considering taking the same trip that the Shai family enjoyed with you.
So once again, thank you for everything, and I believe we will continue to be in touch and hopefully meet again in the future.

"Most Wonderful Experiences with VietnamStay"
THE SMILE OF VIETNAM TOUR (From March 26 to April 11, 2025)
Dear Mr. Xuan Hao,
Two days ago we returned back home to Israel after 3.5 weeks of an amazing tour you have organized for us in Vietnam and Cambodia.
The tour was very experiential and interesting.
Everything from the bottom to the top was organized in a perfect way.
The guides were very friendly and they had a lot of knowledge about the places we traveled with them. They were also very responsible and concerned. I especially want to mention the guides: Kan (in Hanoi), Vi (in Sapa), Andi (in Hoian) and Zoki (in Cambodia). The drivers and vehicles were excellent and also the hotels we stayed in.
Some highlights we experienced in the tour:
Vietnam Museum of Ethnology - a very important place where we learned about the different minorities in Vietnam.
Old quarter in Hanoi
Night train to Sapa
Little track between the villages in Sapa
Motorbike tour - the young guys who guided us like Mary were very friendly and took us to see special sites.
Boat trips
Temples in Cambodia
Apsaras dance show
Cu Chi Tunnels
Mekong Delta
We appreciate your concern when I didn't feel good and missed the Indochine Cruise. We want to thank you once more for covering the fee for an extra night in Hanoi.
We will be happy to recommend you to our friends!
Regards,
Yifaat and Shlomi Kostelitz from Israel
"Special Attention To All Our Needs And Desires"
CUSTOMIZED TOUR TO VIETNAM (From January 27 to February 15, 2025)
We are about to finish our fantastic trip to Vietnam, organised perfectly by Mr. Xuan Hao.
Mr. Xuan tailored-made our trip, for 2 couples, with special attention to all our needs and desires. We managed to see and do many of Vietnam's highlights in our 21-day trip.
I would additionally like to thank Mr. Xuan for assisting me personally when my husband became ill before we arrived in Hoi An. Mr. Xuan helped call a doctor to come to the hotel, and personally cooked rice for my husband to eat in the evening. He then took me to the supermarket in his car to help me buy several things and offered to take me to a restaurant so that I could have dinner.
This personal special attention proves the whole company's attitude for caring for their clients with all tiny details.
Please thank Mr. Xuan Hao in my name.
With my sincere gratitude,
Miriam Parizade from Israel

To enter Bali, travelers need a passport valid for 6 months; many nationalities get 30 days visa-free, while longer stays require a Visa on Arrival or e-visa. The island has a tropical climate with a dry season (Apr–Oct) ideal for beaches and festivals, and a wet season (Nov–Mar) with lush green landscapes. Cash in Indonesian Rupiah is essential for small expenses, though cards are accepted in larger venues, and transport mainly relies on taxis, ride-hailing apps, scooters, or private drivers. Visitors should respect local customs—dress modestly at temples, remove shoes in sacred spaces, and use the right hand when giving or receiving items.
Balinese cuisine is a vibrant reflection of the island’s culture, shaped by its Hindu heritage, fertile volcanic soils, and abundant spices. Meals are a harmonious balance of flavors spicy, savory, sweet, and aromatic—brought together through fresh herbs, coconut, peanuts, and chili-based spice pastes known as bumbu. Rice is the centerpiece of most meals, complemented by grilled meats, seafood, and an array of vegetable dishes. Many recipes are deeply rooted in ceremonial traditions, often served during temple festivals and family gatherings, making Balinese food not only a culinary delight but also a cultural journey.
Nusa Penida is a stunning island off Bali’s southeast coast, famed for its rugged cliffs, crystal-clear waters, and dramatic landscapes. Highlights include Kelingking Beach with its dinosaur-shaped headland, Angel’s Billabong, and Broken Beach. Popular for snorkeling and diving, the island offers encounters with manta rays and vibrant coral reefs, making it a paradise for adventure and nature lovers.
Uluwatu is renowned for its dramatic sea cliffs, world-class surf breaks, and breathtaking ocean views. At its heart lies the iconic Uluwatu Temple, perched high above the waves and famous for sunset Kecak dance performances. With luxury resorts, hidden beaches, and a relaxed coastal vibe, Uluwatu is a perfect blend of culture, adventure, and natural beauty.
Ubud is the cultural and spiritual heart of Bali, surrounded by rice terraces, lush forests, and traditional villages. Known for its art, dance, and handicrafts, it’s also a hub for yoga, wellness, and spiritual retreats. With its temples, galleries, and serene landscapes, Ubud offers a deeper connection to Balinese heritage and nature.
Seminyak is Bali’s upscale beach destination, famous for its luxury resorts, chic boutiques, and stylish beach clubs. The area combines golden beaches and stunning sunsets with a vibrant dining and nightlife scene. Offering a more sophisticated atmosphere than nearby Kuta, Seminyak is perfect for travelers seeking both relaxation and elegance.
