Luang Prabang Vientiane Siem Reap Shihanouk Ville
14 days/13 nights
Day 1: LUANG PRABANG - Arrival 
After arriving at Luang Prabang International Airport, you are met and
transferred to the hotel.
After a short rest, we visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine
of Wat Aham, Wat Mai; we then climb up to the top of Phousi Mount for an
enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset
view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, we
explore Street Night Bazaar, where you can find the lovely collection and
handmade textile by local and hill tribe people residing around Luang Prabang.
Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Optional welcome dinner: at one of the finest local restaurants on the bank of
Mekong River.
Luang Prabang is perhaps the best-preserved traditional city in Southeast Asia.
The tranquility and charm of this town with its splendid natural scenery and
cultural sights make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Laos.
Day 2: LUANG PRABANG PAK OU CAVES (B)
After breakfast, we enjoy a short-guided tour to the city's oldest temple of Wat
Sene and the magnificent Wat Xiengthong with its roofs sweeping low to the
ground, which represent the classical architecture of Luang Prabang temples. We
then board a cruise upstream the Mekong River, which also gives us a beautiful
view of the tranquil countryside as well as an interesting visit to the
mysterious Pak Ou Caves, crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues
of various shapes and sizes. Along the way, we
stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, where they make the distillation of local
rice wine. On return, we take a short drive to Ban Xang Khong and Ban Xienglek,
which is well known for its handmade Jute Sar paper. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 3: LUANG PRABANG KUANGSI WATERFALL (B)
This morning you may want to wake up early and participate in the daily early
morning ritual of saffron-clad monks with their black Alms-giving bowls being
given offerings from the local people, including the ubiquitous sticky rice.
After breakfast, you will visit the morning Phosi Market where you will see such
diverse offerings as dried buffalo skin, local tea and saltpeter among the
chickens, vegetables and hill-tribe weavings. Next up we will visit the National
Museum, and then you will visit the Ban Ouay, Hmong Hill tribe, Ban Ou, Lowland
Lao and Ban Thapene of Khmu village. Continue driving to the beautiful Khouangsi
Waterfall where you can splash around in the pools or walk along the forest
paths, return to Luang Prabang by late afternoon and continue to Ban Phanom, a
well known weaving village. Return to the city by late evening to catch the
sunset at Wat Siphouthabath. Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Day 4: LUANG PRABANG VIENTIANE (B)
After breakfast, we catch a flight back to Vientiane. After checking into hotel,
[if time permits] we continue our sightseeing tour of Vientiane surroundings;
visit the impressive Lao-Thai Friendship Bridge and the Buddha Park, a display
of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures created by mystical monks on parkland located
by the Mekong River. The spectacular sunset over the Mekong River is a perfect
way to finish the day. Overnight in Vientiane.
Day 5: VIENTIANE (B)
In the morning, you will explore Vientiane capital city, we start to visit the
major sights of the capital; including the oldest Wat Sisaket with thousands of
miniature Buddha statues and the former royal temple
of Wat Prakeo previously housed the famous Emerald Buddha Image. On the way to
the famous and sacred structure of That Luang Stupa, we stop to take some
pictures of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is commonly known as
Vientiane's own Arc de Triumph.
In the afternoon, continue to visit the rest of Vientiane on foot, including Wat
Ong Tue, Wat Inpeng and Wat Haisok. Then we pass by the major shopping area
continuing to the Vientiane Central Market of Talad Sao and Talad Kouadin where
the major goods is displayed, including fresh food, household, textiles, gold,
silver and ancient souvenir varied display and return to Mekong Riverside and
late evening. Overnight in Vientiane.
Day 6: VIENTIANE SIEM REAP (B)
After breakfast, we take a flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival Siem Reap, meet and
transfer directly to hotel check-in. Free time at leisure. Dinner with Apsara
Dance Show and overnight at the hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 7: SIEM REAP (B)
After breakfast, you will start to explore Angkor complex with:
Ψ Banteay Srei: nearly everyone's favorite site. The special charm of this
temple lies in its compact size, remarkable state of preservation, and the
excellence of its decorative carving.
Ψ Banteay Samre: Its rose-colored sandstone walls are decorated with carvings
and bas-reliefs, which are among the most accomplished Angkor has to offer.
Ψ We continue to visit the fabulous Ta Prohm embraced by the roots of enormous
fig trees and gigantic creepers. Ta Prohm was built in the 12th century. Its a
Buddhist temple dedicated to the mother of King Jayavarman VII.
Ψ Pre Rup temple was built in the 10th century during the reign of King
Rajendravarman II
Day 8: SIEM REAP (B)
We start a very special and busy day as you will explore some of Angkors most
beautiful temples. You will visit the West Gate of Angkor Thom undiscovered by
mass tourist.
Ψ The ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century)
Ψ See the South Gate, Bayon Temple- unique for its 54 towers decorated with over
200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara
Ψ Baphuon Temple: lying just to the north of Bayon, a pyramidal representation
of mythical Mont Meru
Ψ The Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas
Ψ The Elephant Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King
In the afternoon, you will visit the famous temple: Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is a
World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor. Angkor Wat
features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the
outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology.
Evening is your free time for walking at busy pub street. Dinner at one of many
typical local food restaurants at your own payment. Pop up at a bar for cool
drink or shopping at Angkor Night Market. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 9: SIEM REAP Kulen Promtep National Park (B)
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Kulen Promtep National Park, that is
rich, diverse and gives you the opportunity to view the wonderful animals and
birds in their natural habitat. One million acres of rich forest landscape and
diverse wildlife population are now protected by the Cambodian Wildlife
Sanctuary. Kulen Promtep National Park is 120 km far from Siem Reap province and
takes approximately 2.30 hours by car. Upon arrival, start trekking to watch
wildlife and birds around 2-3 hours then return back to Siem Reap. Overnight at
your hotel.
Day 10: SIEM REAP SHIHANOUK VILLE (B)
After breakfast, free at own leisure untill transfer time to the airport for
departure flight to Sihanouk Ville. Upon arrival, transfer to your resort.
Overnight in Shihanouk Ville.
Day 11 to Day 13: SHIHANOUK VILLE (B)
Free day relaxing at the beach. Overnight at your resort in Shihanouk Ville.
Day 14: SHIHANOUK VILLE PHNOM PENH Departure (B)
After breakfast, free at own leisure till transfer time to pick up by overland
to Phnom Penh International Airport for departure home.
