Striving to find a way to position itself as an “urban wellness paradise,” Singapore has placed a strong emphasis on developing wellness tourism and sustainable tourism during its post-pandemic recovery.

Mr. Alvin Tan, Singapore's Minister of Trade and Industry said that, Singapore aims to become a bustling city where all visitors can easily access healthcare services.

Mr. Tan said, there are many opportunities for Singapore to collect healthcare experiences based on Singapore's identity as a City in Nature and Green Space.

In addition, aiming to become a sustainable destination, Singapore will launch a new program to support businesses in developing sustainable tourism. The Sustainable Tourism Program (TSP) will focus on building capacity, fostering innovation, and educating and raising awareness about this model of tourism development.

To encourage innovation, the Singapore Government will support the development and testing of innovative sustainable solutions through the Singapore Tourism Accelerator Program. Accordingly, innovative technology providers and tourism businesses will collaborate to develop solutions in areas such as waste management, water, energy and carbon emissions, which can be spread across the industry.
