Hanoi Tourism Fulfills Its 2022’s Target of Welcoming Tourists with 10.62 Million Arrivals

In particular, Hanoi city had earlier targeted to receive 9-10 million visitors this year, with 1.2-2 million of them international tourists, and hopefully gain 27.84-35.84 trillion VND from tourism.

 

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, in July alone, the number of international and domestic tourists is forecasted to continue to grow well over the same period last year. Specifically, the total figure of tourists to Hanoi fetched 1.94 million visitors (only reached 17,000 visitors in July 2021). Which, domestic tourists are about 1.8 million, and 141 thousand international visitors are counted, creating a total revenue from tourists that achieve 6.15 trillion VND.

 

It is expected that in the first seven months of 2022, the total number of tourists to Hanoi is estimated at 10.62 million, up 3.6 times higher than the quantity seen in the same period last year. In which, international tourists counted 425.9 thousand arrivals, domestic tourists reached 10.2 million arrivals, an increase of 3.5 times compared to the same period last year, bringing in a large total revenue gained 31.9 trillion VND, up 3.9 times over the same period in 2021.

 

Thus, compared with the plan set by the city earlier this year, the capital's tourism industry has completed the goal of welcoming tourists to Hanoi.

 

 

 

This large number of tourists coming to Hanoi in the first 7 months of 2022 really plays an important role in the efforts to recover tourism activities after 2 years of being heavily affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. This is also a favorable premise for Hanoi tourism to accelerate its breakthrough in the coming period.

 

According to the Director of the Hanoi Department of Tourism, Dang Huong Giang, the Department of Tourism will continue to encourage travel agencies and destinations to build attractive and unique tourism products, focusing on strong products of the Capital such as cultural tourism, experience tourism, sports tourism, MICE tourism.

 

Besides, the Hanoi Department of Tourism also calls on tour operators to organize and develop new and specific tourism products according to the city’s different areas and local specialties such as adventure tourism products, flying balloons in Ba Vi; paragliding in Chuong My, in order to attract groups of young, dynamic tourists who love to experience and explore.

 

Finally, with the target of creating a strong development in attracting more tourists to the capital, Hanoi tourism strengthens communication and propaganda of tourism images, destinations, and new tourism products of the Capital on domestic media and television channels (VTV, HanoiTV...) and international CNN channel; diversify forms of propaganda and promotion through Hanoi tourism FM programs, websites, social networking platforms...
